IFMA Boston’s FMForward Deep Dive 2024 was held on November 19

Boston, MA IFMA Boston’s FMForward Deep Dive 2024 was held on November 19th at the Babson Executive Conference Center and the topic was how using reality capture technologies like 3D laser scanning and drones, coupled with BIM integration can revolutionize the way facility data is managed and maintained. The event was capped off with a cocktail reception and tradeshow featuring the IFMA Boston Annual Partners.

The program was presented by Existing Conditions, GPRS, Pragmaticam, and LLB Architects. Existing Conditions emphasized how important Starting Accurate Staying Accurate is to their process for providing accurate, dependable, and cost-effective reality capture solutions to successfully complete most complex projects with precise as-built drawings and 3D BIM models.

Pragmaticam and LLB Architects led the group into a case study on Dexter Southfield that helped to streamline operations, improve safety, and optimize long-term planning through space inventories and facility assessments.

GPRS highlighted their capabilities in providing accurate plans and information on what actually lies beneath the surface of the building, roadway, sidewalk, etc. Their presentation showcased the fact that many building managers don’t have accurate records of piping and infrastructure that is vital to their projects.

The group was also able to do a hands-on assessment of the many tools used by Existing Conditions and GPRS.
