The homes will feature exceptional energy efficiency, including super-insulated construction, photovoltaic solar panels, solar hot water, triple-glazed windows, low-flow showerheads and more. Net-zero, or zero-energy, means exactly that - zero cost to the home owner for the consumption or use of electricity because of the home's design. Because they are modular, net-zero homes can be constructed quickly in Keiser's state of the art, climate-controlled facility, and will give owners immediate savings in their energy bills. The efficiency is accomplished using R-40 wall insulation, R-60 ceilings, and triple glaze windows.
The first completed home was a 2-story Cape-style featuring 1,750 s/f of living space with 3 bedrooms and two-and-a-half baths. A variety of configurations and floor plans are available.
