Lee Kennedy Co. broke ground on the Winsor School's $70.8 million building project on the Pilgrim Rd. campus in the Longwood Medical area. The addition was designed by William Rawn Associates.
The addition will nearly double the educational space. When it is completed in 2015, it will add more than 130,000 s/f including new centers for the performing arts and for athletics and wellness plus innovative academic classrooms.
Groundbreaking attendees included Bill Rawn, Clifford Gayley and Mark Oldham all of Rawn Assoc. Lee Michael Kennedy was on hand with several of his team to break ground.
Many Boston business leaders who championed the project as Winsor trustees put a ceremonial shovel in the ground as well, including Joe O'Donnell, Nancy Gardiner, Bridgitt Evans, William Elfers, Jordan Warshaw, Linda Thomas, Allison Kaneb Pellegrino and Bart Mitchell, each a Winsor parent.
