A recent one-on-one business program visit brought us to Secure Future Tech Solutions, a small business established 22 years ago by Eric Shorr, who was then a junior at the University of Rhode Island. The company was originally called PC Troubleshooters, Inc., and was largely a "break-fix" shop.
As technology evolved, so did the company, into a firm which now offers proactive solutions that monitor and maintain a client's network with a focus on physical and network security solutions, including network video surveillance, data backup and disaster recovery, network and email security and a number of other cloud offerings that would mitigate downtime should a disaster strike.
As part of this evolution, and with an increase in employees from 12 to 18 in just a year, the company undertook a marketing and rebranding study, choosing its new name to reflect all that the business had become while still holding true to a core mission of helping to promote growth and success for Rhode Island small to medium- sized companies. In keeping with that goal, Secure Future Tech Solutions offers a variety of seminars, from "marketing your personal brand," to "Think Like a Hacker! Tips to Protecting Your Business." Lisa Shorr, Eric's wife and the vice president of marketing, has an upbeat, sunny personality that reflects the company's other focuses - offering a positive work environment for employees and a strong, responsive customer service strategy.
We look forward to their continued success and growth here in Warwick. For more information, visit www.securefuturetech.com.
Scott Avedisian is the mayor of Warwick and the chairman of the RIPTA board of directors.
