The ICSC New Jersey Government Relations Committee, open to all ICSC members, helps shape the public policy agenda for the shopping center industry in Trenton and Washington, D.C. The Committee advocates for legislation impacting retail real estate in Trenton such as:
1. Changing the "Time of Decision" to "Time of Application" for land use approvals;
2. Enacting a moratorium on COAH development fees (working on a permanent defeat);
3. Enacting permit extension;
4. Enacting the Economic Redevelopment and Growth Grant (ERGG) program which utilizes sales tax revenue to provide tax increment financing to offset unique costs of retail redevelopment projects.
