Pellegrini, Andreana and Ponte honored by CEDAS

Farmington, CT Each year, CEDAS honors exceptional members for their efforts in economic development from around the state. The awards were presented at the annual meeting and awards dinner December 9th.

The Kenny L. Roberts Lifetime Achievement Award recipient is Mark Pellegrini, director of planning and economic development for the Town of Manchester. In his three decades with Manchester, Pellegrini has guided the development of the Buckland Hills commercial area, Cheney Mills redevelopment, and the revitalization of the community’s downtown. He has also been an active participant in regional economic development efforts.

The Member of the Year award goes to Mike Andreana, attorney at Pullman & Comley. Andreana is being recognized for being the primary drafter of Connecticut’s new Tax Increment Financing legislation and for his efforts in promoting this economic development tool in the state.

Receiving the President’s Award is Rose Ponte, director of economic development for the  Town of Farmington. Ponte is being recognized for her work chairing the CEDAS programs committee which offered several well-attended and well-received events this year; as well as her dynamic leadership in economic development for the Town of Farmington.

CEDAS, the Connecticut Economic Development Association, is a not-for-profit organization committed to advancing the practice of economic development within the state of Connecticut. The Association encourages communication among its members by providing a forum for discussion and information exchange.
