Jared McNabb, CMCA, PCAM (left) accepts Award of Excellence in Membership from CAI national president T. Peter Kristian, CMCA, LSM, PCAM at the 57th National Conference and Exposition in Orlando, FL.

This month's message I will devote to three individuals who have been recognized for their contributions to the New England chapter. Each of these individuals has done such an outstanding job locally that they were recognized by their peers and colleagues at the CAI national conference in Orlando, Florida last month. It is the dedication and work of these three individuals which helps make the New England chapter stand out among the 57 other chapters in the country.
Jared McNabb, CMCA, PCAM with Crowninshield Management Corp., AMO in Peabody, Mass., won the Award of Excellence in Membership. Membership has always been near and dear to my heart and when I met McNabb a number of years ago, I discussed with him becoming involved in the membership committee. Once he joined, it was clear that his enthusiasm and dedication would serve the membership committee well and it wasn't long before he became the chairman of the membership committee. As a result of his outstanding work on that committee and as an individual recruiter, McNabb was given this honor.
Thomas Moriarty, Esq. a partner in the law firm of Marcus, Errico, Emmer & Brooks, PC in Braintree, Mass., was presented the Award of Excellence in Government and Public Affairs. Moriarty has always had an interest in politics long before he became involved with CAI. That interest meshed well with the needs of the legislative action committee which Moriarty chairs. When I first met him at the very beginning of his legal career, it was clear he was going to be a superstar, and he has certainly accomplished that in both his legal career and with CAI.
Claudette Carini, New England chapter executive director has always been an outstanding chapter executive director. She has been the glue of this chapter for more than a decade and is key to its success. CAI national has clearly observed this, which is why Carini was awarded the Chapter Executive Director of the Year. We all know her and appreciate her and the New England chapter will be forever grateful for her past and future contributions, her hard work and continued dedication.
I know that these individuals inspire all of us, and I am confident that more of our members will also be future award winners for the CAI New England chapter.

Richard Brooks is the 2008 president of CAI N.E. chapter and partner at Marcus, Errico, Emmer & Brooks, Braintree, Mass.
