New Haven, CT A rare piece of Wooster Square history has changed hands. A six-unit brick apartment building — held by the same family for 100 years — has been sold for $1.325 million, according to Press|Cuozzo Commercial Services, which represented both sides of the transaction.
Located within walking distance of the Wooster Square Green and the neighborhood’s Italian eateries, the 7,000 s/f building offers 1,000 s/f apartments, five garages, and additional off-street parking on its 0.20-acre lot.
Stephen Press, SIOR, served as the listing agent on behalf of 224 St. John Street, LLC, while David Candido of Press|Cuozzo procured the buyer, Humphreysville, LLC. The sale closed on April 25, 2026.
Press emphasized the continued strength of New Haven’s multifamily sector. “Investor interest remains exceptionally strong throughout the city, especially in areas with consistent rental demand tied to Yale,” he said.
The sale underscores the enduring appeal of Wooster Square, where historic charm, walkability, and proximity to downtown continue to attract both residents and investors.
