Public officials and private development to share lessons learned on public-private partnership (P3) projects at upcoming American Planning Association event

Pawtucket, RI The Rhode Island Chapter of the American Planning Association (APA RI) invites real estate, development, engineers, architects, legal, and public sector professionals to a unique networking and educational event: “Game Changer! Tidewater Landing – What goes into a Public Private Partnership (P3) project?” Scheduled for Thursday, June 25, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM, the event will take place at the newly minted Centreville Bank Stadium.

Tidewater Landing represents a massive revitalization milestone for Pawtucket. This exclusive event pulls back the curtain on the complex machinery of a major Public-Private Partnership (P3), demonstrating that transformative urban waterfront developments do not happen organically.

Interactive “Information Stations” & Expert Insights

This “Network & Learn” event will feature dedicated interactive stations where attendees will have the unique opportunity to mingle directly with the private developers, public officials, and specialized consultants who navigated the project from concept to construction, as well as funding organizations and regulatory agencies. Experts will share crucial lessons learned, technical insights, and “what to expect” with:

• Planning & Funding: Master planning, Tax Increment Financing (TIF), SuperTIF structures, and support of state funding sources.

• History and Future: Description of the history of the site alongside highlights about the future development upcoming.

• Environmental Remediation & Permitting: Coastal Resources Management Council (CRMC) and RI Department of Environmental Management (RIDEM) compliance, alongside complex site remediation.

• Design & Infrastructure: Insights into the stadium engineering and construction concurrent with a combined sewer mega-project, riverwalk layout, an Urban Coastal Greenway, and a pedestrian bridge.

• Legal & Deal Structuring: Perspectives from both public and private legal teams, including public bond counsel.
