Rocky Hill, CT The Connecticut Chapter of Professional Woman in Construction (PWC-CT) will host a panel discussion and meeting entitled “Issues and Impacts: Southern New England Health Care” on May 5 at the Sheraton Hartford South. This is one in a series of educational and networking events hosted by PWC-CT, whose programs are tailored to professionals in the architectural, engineering and construction fields as well as interested members of the public.

Healthcare facilities require expert management under intense and demanding conditions. Advances in medical technology; the Affordable Care Act; the transition from volume-based care to value-based care; and changes in care delivery such as outpatient and ambulatory care facilities – as well as the ongoing challenges of drug-resistant infections, an aging population, and other health and wellness issues -- are affecting the planning and management of healthcare facilities for 2015 and beyond. Attend this program to meet and learn from the individuals who effectively and efficiently direct facilities, planning and construction for some of the top-ranked hospital and health care facilities in Southern New England.

The panel’s moderator will be Steve Jalowiec, P.E., CHFM of Hospital Energy. Panelists include Dominic Gagnon of Baystate Health; Stephen Carbery of Yale New Haven Health System; Ed Lydon, CHFM of Beverly Hospital-Lahey Health; Bimal Patel of Hartford Healthcare; and George Karsanow, AIA LEED of UConn Health Center.
