Red Hawk Fire & Security helps bring next generation banking to South Shore Bank in Hingham, Massachusetts

Hingham, MA South Shore Bank, a $1 billion, full service community bank, needed an integrator who could help upgrade their branch banks, extend hours, and bring ATM services up to date. After looking at available options, they selected Red Hawk Fire & Security to integrate new NCR APTRA Interactive Tellers.RH truck

Unlike competitors, NCR and Red Hawk guaranteed a total, end-to-end solution delivering hardware, unrivalled APTRA software and complete installation services. Additionally, NCR and Red Hawk delivered the essential customer support and expertise needed to ensure a painless process to test, evaluate and implement the system for its new financial center in Hingham.

NCR APTRA Interactive Teller combines video collaboration and remote transaction processing technology embedded within the ATM. South Shore customers can deposit both cash and checks through a single slot in a single transaction. They also have the choice of self-service or connecting with a remote teller in a highly personalized, two-way audio/video interaction.

The virtual tellers are all South Shore Bank employees located at the company’s Massachusetts operations center. As part of the project, Red Hawk and NCR tested the system prior to bringing it on-line.

“We had been with Red Hawk for the service on our other machines and knew we could count on them as a partner, not just a vendor. Red Hawk also brought NCR to the table and it has turned out to be exactly the strong partnership we needed for this project. Together they’ve made sure the technology integration was where it needed to be because we wanted to push forward to implement this innovative concept,” said South Shore chief operating officer/chief technology officer and executive vice president, Pam O’Leary. “We have just installed our eighth terminal, with two more scheduled before year end. Customers enjoy the live interaction and extended service hours.”
