Richards Barry Joyce & Partners named exclusive leasing agent for SouthField Corp. Center

Richards Barry Joyce & Partners, LLC (RBJ&P) has been hired by LNR Property LLC as the exclusive leasing agent for commercial real estate at SouthField Corporate Center. SouthField Corporate Center is part of Southfield, a master-planned, mixed-use development located on the grounds of the former South Weymouth Naval Air Station. SouthField will consist of residential, retail, lifestyle, recreation and commercial space, situated on 1,400 acres. Currently more than 500 homes and apartments are either occupied, under construction or in development. Ultimately, over 2,800 homes of all types will be built within SouthField. SouthField Corporate Center has up to 1.7 million s/f of capacity for office, biomedical research, and high-tech R&D uses. More importantly, SouthField has some of the fastest permitting in the state. As part of the state's select group of municipal Growth Districts, the entire permitting and approvals process will be completed within 90 days. The RBJ&P team assigned to the project includes John Lashar, Jon Varholak, Robert Byrne and Chris Mullen. The SouthField development recently received a major boost with LNR closing on the final 830 acres of land and the further construction of the East-West Parkway, a four lane thoroughway that connects SouthField to Rte. 3, at the Rte. 228 interchange which has received $42.6 million in financing from Gov. Deval Patrick. In addition to the Parkway, SouthField also has an MBTA Commuter Rail station on-site, helping to make it the state's leading "smart growth" development. With only two stops at peak commuting times to Boston's South Station, the commute can be as little as 15-20 minutes. "With the first phase of the Parkway nearing completion and the number of residents, purchased homes and leased apartments on the increase, our vision of SouthField is now being fully realized," said Paul Hickey, director of development, LNR Property LLC. "Having the commercial real estate side of the project moving forward is very exciting. We anticipate SouthField appealing to larger organizations, though they could be from any number of industries." "SouthField offers one of the best corporate campus opportunities in the Greater Boston area," said Robert Byrne, senior vice president, RBJ&P. "Given its proximity to Boston, beautiful setting and amenities, and streamlined permitting process, SouthField meets all the requirements of a corporate tenant. Given our stream-lined form-based permitting process, our timeline to deliver new construction can at times compare with renovating or retrofitting an existing building."
