SR Commercial brokers sale of Magic Wings Butterfly Conservatory

Deerfield, MA SR Commercial has completed the sale of Magic Wings Butterfly Conservatory, a beloved one-of-a-kind destination located at 281 Greenfield Rd.

The seller was represented by Jeremy Casey, managing partner of SR Commercial, with transaction coordination and closing support led by Daniel Lavitman and Rich Borsari. The property was sold for $2.5 million.

The property consists of 19,656 s/f and is home to more than 4,000 butterflies and over 300 plant species, along with a café, commercial kitchen, event space, and on-site parking.

What made this transaction especially meaningful was the buyer’s connection to the property. The purchasers were longtime visitors who had actually been married at Magic Wings, making the acquisition both a business decision and a deeply personal one.

“This was not just a real estate transaction, it was the transfer of something that holds real emotional and community value,” said Casey. “Helping a legacy property like Magic Wings transition to owners who already have a personal connection to it made this deal especially rewarding.”

The transaction required careful coordination, thoughtful due diligence, and a clear understanding of the operational and experiential aspects of the property. Lavitman and Borsari played a key role in managing timelines, documentation, and communication throughout the process to ensure a smooth path to closing.

Magic Wings has long been a regional destination for families, tourists, and private events, and the new ownership is committed to preserving the spirit of the conservatory while continuing its role as a community landmark.

SR Commercial is honored to have been part of this unique transaction and looks forward to seeing the next chapter of Magic Wings take flight.
