SullivanHayes represents The Fresh Market in 22,775 s/f Westport lease

Tim McNamara and Brian Knowles of Farmington-based SullivanHayes Companies represented The Fresh Market in securing its first Connecticut location on Rte. 1 at Westport's Village Center Shopping Center. The space was previously occupied by Shaw's Supermarket whose lease was near expiration. The team negotiated a 15-year lease with Westport-based landlord, Roseville Estates and its broker, Brett Sherman of Angel Commercial, LLC. The space which is the anchor of the shopping center measures 22,775 s/f. The Fresh Market, based out of Greensboro, N.C., is a privately held and family owned upscale grocer with 90 stores in 18 states. This location marks the company's second New England store, the first located in Hingham, Mass. The company plans extensive renovations both to the interior and exterior of the space with the end result being an exciting and pleasurable grocery shopping experience. The store is known for high quality perishables and prepared foods in an "old-world" style décor. The company plans to open in late 2009 or early 2010. SullivanHayes is representing The Fresh Market in its search for locations throughout Connecticut and Westchester County, N.Y.

Goldberg of Spire Investments purchases Beverly portfolio for $9.2m

Beverly, MA Jay Goldberg, president and owner of Spire Investments has completed the purchase of four multifamily buildings. The 33-unit purchase amounted to a sale price of $9.2 million or $278,788 per unit. The properties are all located in downtown and consist of one- and two-bedroom units.
