What was your most important professional accomplishment or most notable project, deal, or transaction in 2022? This year I was elevated to the council of fellows within the American Society of Landscape Architects, one of the highest honors the ASLA bestows.

What was your most important professional accomplishment or most notable project, deal, or transaction in 2022? Our life sciences team recruited a handful of strategic additions to expand our team and expertise in 2022, and it’s been remarkable to see

How has your career path changed in 2022? In this past year, I joined a new real estate team, the Brody Chandler team at Douglas Elliman, based out of Boston, Nantucket and Wellesley. I made the move because I see my career focusing on the luxury market in real estate.

What person, project, transaction or market trend had the greatest impact on your industry this year? I think 2022 will be remembered as the year we began to understand that human-centric design with a dose of proximity and social connectivity is the recipe for truly innovative and meaningful work. In effect, we switched from being reactive to being proactive

What was your most important professional accomplishment or most notable project, deal, or transaction in 2022? Climate change is an existential threat, and our company is undertaking a big step to make a positive environmental impact. We’re committed to making Chapman carbon neutral by 2030, becoming the first N.E. general contractor to do so. We are targeting EPA Scopes 1 and 2.

What person, project, transaction or market trend had the greatest impact on your industry this year? The increase in interest rates is by far the biggest impact on the business broker landscape. As interest rates continue to increase, we expect to see values decrease.

What was your most important professional accomplishment or most notable project, deal, or transaction in 2022? I currently am working on a residential project assisting a client who recently underwent surgery that made him an amputee. I love knowing that the work I do will help him to be able to live a better life at home.

What person, project, transaction or market trend had the greatest impact on your industry this year? This year’s game changer for the built environment is the Inflation Reduction Act. This act included $370 billion earmarked for investments to fight climate change.

What person, project, transaction or market trend had the greatest impact on your industry this year? The greatest impact in our region continues to come from remote working. This trend is affecting offices, restaurants, retail, housing, and transportation.

What was your most important professional accomplishment or most notable project, deal, or transaction in 2022? In a world where non-profits are having a difficult time finding the financial resources needed to support their missions, we have been able to successfully meet the required criteria to help convert a handful of non-profit entities to for-profits.

What person, project, transaction or market trend had the greatest impact on your industry this year? Just like the boom in Silicon Valley at the turn of the 21st century that transformed the technology landscape, the Boston life science industry is seeing similar advancements.
