What was the most difficult part of working during the pandemic of 2020? The biggest challenge of working during the pandemic has been adjusting to a partially remote workforce. While technology has allowed us to successfully work remotely during the beginning of the pandemic, it became obvious at a point that we were missing something. There is an unmeasurable dynamic of face-to-face interaction, collaboration and teamwork that happens in an office environment

What was the most difficult part of working during the pandemic of 2020? The most difficult part of working during the pandemic was not being able to meet with clients or attend networking events in person. Video calls are fine but I miss seeing people in person!

What was your greatest professional accomplishment or most notable project, deal, or transaction in 2020? While we had several great projects in 2020, we are very proud to have designed the Pelham House Resort in Dennis Port, MA This project consisted of a brand new 13,000 s/f ocean front function facility, restaurant and bar located directly on Nantucket Sound.

What aspects of working from home have you enjoyed most? It’s actually been really nice interacting over Zoom with clients who are also working from the more causal home environment versus a polished corporate setting. It’s a reminder that we are all in this thing together, trying to balance work and home life. There’s something about having your dog refuse to stop barking during an important meeting that forces you to put your guard down and be more real.

What aspects of working from home have you enjoyed most? The ability to meet virtually allows me to schedule more meetings in less time than the old face-to-face way of doing things. What was your greatest professional accomplishment or most notable project, deal, or transaction in 2020? This year, R.L. Goldman completed a total reconstruct of the corporate headquarters for a prominent South Shore development company. The job consisted of paving over 322,000 s/f of existing parking lots and roadways while also replacing 12,000 feet of concrete curbing with vertical granite.

What was your greatest professional accomplishment or most notable project, deal, or transaction in 2020? We had a great year servicing all of our major vertical markets: Academic, corporate, retail/hospitality, healthcare, and community. One of the most rewarding projects was our 13,000 s/f, ground-up Pelham House Resort project.
