Opening ceremony of The Shops at Chestnut Green

The Shops at Chestnut Green officially opened with a traditional ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, June 19th, and the doors opened for business on Saturday, June 20th, accentuated by hot air balloon rides, dance performances, childrens' games and prize giveaways.
Dignitaries in attendance for the ribbon cutting included State Senator Jim Timilty and Rep. Jay Barrows, along with members of the Foxborough Historical Society and Tri-Town Chamber of Commerce.
The Grand Opening of The Shops at Chestnut Green was held by VinCo Properties, Inc., a Boston-based real estate development company.
Located at 121 Main St., the Shops at Chestnut Green feature Waxy O'Connor's Irish Pub, Babel's Paint and Decorating, Reliable Dry Cleaners, The Learning Experience, Pizza Time, Sharon Credit Union, Supercuts, Tanorama, Foxy Nails, Glee Gifts, Mai Pearl, Elite Dance Center and Walgreens.
Built on the land of the former Foxborough State Hospital, Chestnut Green has been transformed into a $100 million mixed-use project with an ambitious plan to bring an upscale urban development to Boston's traditionally residential suburbs.
Situated just one mile from Gillette Stadium, the site boasts a 93-acre community, featuring condominiums and luxury homes for more than 200 families, 14 units of affordable apartments, 55,000 s/f of open-air retail shops, 98,000 s/f of Class A office space, and 40 acres of community playing fields and walking trails.
The development team is led by master developer Vince O'Neill of VinCo Properties, Inc. VinCo Properties is developing The Shops and The Offices and in partnership with Matthew Abrams of Abrams Properties, LLC developing 15 townhomes called The Carriage House Flats and 55 apartments. On the perimeter of the property, Michael Intoccia of Intoccia Construction Company is developing single family homes and Douglas King of Douglas A. King Builders, Inc. is also developing single family homes in addition to 60 town homes.
