Warrenstreet Architects completes 110,000 s/f Rockingham County Municipal Building with Harvey Construction

Brentwood, NH Warrenstreet Architects, Inc. completed the new Rockingham County Municipal Building, a 110,000 s/f facility located at 94 North Rd. This ground-up complex consolidates key county departments, including the county commissioners, county attorney, registry of deeds, sheriff’s office, emergency operations and dispatch center, and community corrections, into a single, centralized hub.

Guided by the Rockingham County commissioners and director of facilities Jude Gates, Warrenstreet provided comprehensive architectural services, including landscape architecture and full interior design for each department. The $76 million project, constructed by Harvey Construction and supported by a team of consultants, engineers, and subcontractors, began with a space needs assessment in 2017 and broke ground in fall 2022.

“Reflective of the county’s deep commitment to public service, sustainability, and long-term planning, this new facility stands as a symbol of collaboration and dedication,” said Caroline Corriveau, AIA, project architect and co-owner of Warrenstreet. “It was made possible by many hands working together toward a shared goal of strengthening community services.”

Designed to meet the unique operational needs of each department while aligning with the County’s environmental and maintenance goals, the building features: a 131-seat auditorium equipped with advanced acoustics, lighting, and AV systems for public meetings and events; a six-bay garage and two-bay sallyport supporting the Sheriff’s Office; and a five-megawatt solar farm that powers the entire complex with renewable energy.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the building’s official opening and included the burial of a time capsule beneath a granite medallion engraved with the County seal. Curated by a committee of county representatives, the capsule contains items reflecting current events and milestones tied to the year of the project’s completion.

“Warrenstreet deeply values our relationship with Rockingham County,” said Corriveau. “We are honored to have contributed to a facility that delivers safe, modern, and responsible design solutions for county residents and staff, now and for generations to come.”

Founded in 1990, Warrenstreet Architects is a New Hampshire-based employee-owned design cooperative with offices in Concord and Manchester. The firm provides planning, architecture, landscape architecture, and interior design services across a wide range of public and private sector projects throughout New England.
