09-18-2014 - Tranzon Auction Properties to auction off the historic property at 415 Congress Street, Portland, ME

August 28, 2014 - Front Section
Tranzon Auction Properties will be assisting in the sale of the historic property at 415 Congress St. Owner of the building, Kevin Mattson, general partner for 415 Congress Partners, LLP, said the sale of the important landmark is consistent with the business strategy of the project's parent company, Dirigo Capital Advisors. "We've been discussing how to handle the sale of this property internally for a few years, because of its unique history and disposition. I'm excited to have Tranzon on board - we're ready to hear from the market on this one. I'm looking forward to putting this jewel of a property into new hands."
"The auction is scheduled for September 18," said Mike Carey, vice president at Tranzon. "We just received the assignment. Our team is busy looking through documents provided by the seller and we'll be putting together a full due diligence package for interested parties."
"Although Tranzon sells property at auction throughout the United States, we are fortunate to offer such a significant property in our home city. We have had the opportunity to sell some great Portland landmarks, like Eastland Park. To add 415 Congress is noteworthy," said Tom Saturley, president of Tranzon. "We are extremely pleased to be working with Kevin and his team."
Built in 1911 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, 415 Congress St. is divided in two parts. The rear portion holds the original Masonic Temple. The front portion is being offered for sale by Tranzon Auction Properties and has been modernized into 49,494 s/f of commercial office space.
Tranzon is one of the largest real estate auction companies in the country, with over 30 offices coast-to-coast. Tranzon's accomplished auction professionals are widely recognized as leaders in the auction industry. Tranzon Auction Properties is a member company of Tranzon, LLC and Tranzon International, LLC.
