EBC Rhode Island chapter will hold a seminar: Wind Energy: An Update on November 30, 8:00 -10:00 a.m. at the Providence Marriott Downtown, 1 Orms St.
This EBC R. I. Chapter program will provide anÂ update on the status ofÂ wind energy developments in R.I.Â Â The program will include the following speakers:
Andrew Dzykewicz,Â commissioner of the office of energy resources, will talk about the case for wind power in R. I. andÂ offer an update on recent developments in wind energy within the state.Â
Daniel Mendelsohn of Applied Technology & ManagementÂ will offer an overview of the RIWINDS Phase I Siting Study and itsÂ conclusions about the viability of wind power.
Dr. Malcolm SpauldingÂ from the University of R. I. and Applied Science Associates will talk about the important role of science and engineering in the futureÂ developmentÂ ofÂ wind power in the state.
Charlie Natale, Jr., president and CEO ofÂ ESS Group, Inc. will talk to the group about the practical hurdles of permitting wind projects.
Richard Talipsky, chair of the town of Portsmouth Economic Development Committee's Sustainable EnergyÂ Subcommittee, will highlightÂ theÂ town's recentÂ efforts and successes inÂ developing small scale windÂ at the local level.Â
