The Kempner Corp. purchases 6-unit multifamily prop. for $1m

New Haven, CT The Kempner Corp., a White-Plains based commercial real estate company, has purchased a multifamily apartment building in the desirable Wooster Sq. neighborhood of downtown, near Yale University, for $1 million to add to its growing portfolio.

The five story, six-unit residential rental building at 36-38 Lyon St. is 6,058 s/f and has four outdoor parking spaces. The building, that was built in 1876, features two, one-bedroom duplexes, two one-bedroom units and two one-bedroom lofts.

The building is located within walking distance to downtown, Yale University Campus and some well known restaurants including, Maden Apizza, Frank Pepe’s, Sally’s Goodfella’s and more.

“The acquisition of 36-38 Lyon St. is a rare opportunity to purchase a prime renovated brick apartment building in the Wooster Sq. neighborhood geared towards employees and graduate students of Yale University as well as Yale New Haven Hospital,” said Douglas Kempner, Kempner Corp.’s managing director.

Northeast Property Group’s Bradley Balleto, Rich Edwards and Jeffrey Wright represented the buyer and seller.
