2026 Women in Construction: Dawn Proulx, Timberline Construction Corp.

Dawn Proulx
Project Executive
Timberline Construction Corp.

What current or recently completed project, accomplishment or initiative are you most excited about, and why does it matter for your team, clients or community? The Ethos LINAC Project in Portsmouth, NH, is a recently completed project I’m especially proud of. A linear accelerator is a lifeline for pets facing cancer, and helping deliver advanced veterinary oncology care is incredibly meaningful. The project demanded close collaboration and precision, strengthening our team’s expertise in a specialized field. Today, the hospital can offer state-of-the-art radiation therapy, reducing the need for pet owners to travel long distances for care.

What is one piece of advice or perspective you would share with women beginning their careers in the construction industry? Build relationships early and intentionally. Connect with people in the field, in the office, and across disciplines. Those relationships become your sounding board, support system, and strongest advocates. Seek mentors who challenge and guide you, and don’t hesitate to ask questions. It shows engagement and commitment to doing things right. Above all, keep learning. Every project and site walk is a chance to strengthen your technical skills and leadership voice, building the confidence to navigate and grow in the industry.

What habit or routine helps you stay focused or motivated during a busy week? I start each week by setting priorities, revisiting them daily, and holding quick team check-ins to keep everyone aligned.
