A&O Danner completes construction on 1,500 s/f Alton Lane store

Alton Lane, a men's clothier, selected builder and general contractor A&O Danner Companies to handle the company's third store project. Construction of the 1,500 s/f store at 91 Newbury St. was completed this past fall. Alton Lane's first two shops are in NYC and Washington, D.C. Stephen Danner, president said his firm was chosen because of his successes with six custom shops he built for British clothier Jack Wills University Outfitters which also has a shop on Newbury St. The architect for the $100,000 project was Morgan/Bradley Design. Macleod Electrical Services served as the electrical contractor. Asked about Alton Lane's choice of A&O Danner for their Boston store, co-founder Peyton Jenkins said, "As we've expanded our retail operation, we've been looking for a group that can not only expand with us nationally but also gets what we're doing... understands both our business concept and our design aesthetic. From the first conversation with Stephen Danner, he got it and understood it." On the A&O Danner team, Jenkins said, "Beyond being organized and skilled at his job, Stephen and his team are just enjoyable to be around. Our onsite project manager Pat is a great guy and very responsive to our needs. One thing I love about Danner is that I can give them an idea, and they bring it to completion - no questions asked."
