Pembroke, MA Acella Construction Corporation, a leader in construction management throughout greater Boston, celebrated the groundbreaking of North River Church’s new activity center, at 334 Old Oak St.
The $930,000, 1,800 s/f addition will be a space primarily for younger adults, with the expectation of multi-purpose use within North River Church as well as serve as a resource to the local community. Just as rivers with rapids also feature coves of protection, “The Cove” will allow younger people to come together and be themselves. The addition will feature an open floor plan as well as two unisex bathrooms, closet storage, two sets of double doors that open into the Worship Center, and HVAC. The project is expected to be completed in this spring.
In addition to Acella Construction, other partners on the North River Church project include Axiom Architects and Wagner Project Management.
Senior pastor Paul Atwater of North River Church led the celebration with members of the church as well as project partners. The church community voted to move ahead on the project in July 2024.
The North River Church was launched in 1989; Atwater was the founding pastor at that time.
