Cummings Properties has appointed Eric Anderson to the position of executive vice president. Anderson, a 13-year veteran of the Woburn-based commercial real estate firm, is only the third person in the company's 43-year history to hold the post.
A 1998 graduate of Colby College, Anderson spent a short time with a Wall Street financial firm and served in the United States Marine Corps, before joining Cummings in 1999. He started as an associate property manager at Cummings Center, the firm's 2 million s/f campus in Beverly, before transferring to the Woburn headquarters.
Over time, Anderson has served in a variety of positions of increasing responsibility within Cummings Properties' operations and leasing departments. Currently, he is the senior manager overseeing the company's acquisition of new clients, as well its relationships with existing clients.
During his early years with the company, Anderson continued his military service as a Marine reservist. He was called to active duty twice, reporting first to Camp Lejeune in North Carolina and then to Iraq.
In addition to his many contributions to Cummings Properties, Anderson performs in a leadership or advisory capacity at some of the firm's affiliated entities. He serves as vice president and treasurer of New Horizons at Marlborough retirement community, as an overseer of Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University, and as president of Woburn's Beacon Grille restaurant.
