Chestnut Hill, MA In celebration of World Art Day, The Street Chestnut Hill has unveiled “High Swans” a new mural by Italian artist Agostino Iacurci. The installation is Iancurci’s second work at the property and adds color to The Street.
“High Swans” is perched on the canopy overhang at 27 Boylston St., The Street’s newest development, overlooking Hammond Pond. This addition enhances a space housing 23 businesses, including retail, restaurants, and offices – home to new spots like WHEAT, Roller Rabbit, and Marine Layer.
“High Swans” brings a blend of colors – shades of pink, coral, black, and white – that enhance the geometric patterns of the graceful swans.
These bright hues and bold shapes invite visitors to pause and admire the harmony between art and nature. The mural reflects Iacurci’s distinct style, which balances natural forms with architectural elements to create visually compelling and thought-provoking spaces. “High Swans” is a perfect visual counterpoint to Iacurci’s earlier mural, “Tall Flowers”, which adorns the two-story façade of the same building just above Arc’teryx.
Together, “High Swans” and “Tall Flowers” form a visual dialogue between earth and sky, enhancing the visitor experience at The Street Chestnut Hill with their harmonious interplay.
“With High Swans and Tall Flowers, I wanted to create a visual conversation between earth and sky, inviting viewers to pause and feel the quiet harmony of nature in motion and the beauty of the Chestnut Hill landscape,” said Agostino Iacurci.
Iacurci’s murals have been featured in both public and private spaces worldwide, and his distinctive use of form, color, and texture bring to life the natural world in art form. His work transforms spaces with a balance of abstract and organic elements, making “High Swans” and “Tall Flowers” a perfect fit for Chestnut Hill’s serene yet lively environment.
“Through our commitment to bringing exciting art and visual experiences to the community, we’re excited to debut Agostino Iacurci’s second artwork at The Street,” said Alana Stein, director, asset strategy & experience at WS Development. “His unique artistic vision brings both energy and serenity to the space, adding even more personality to our neighborhood that offers guests an inspiring and colorful visual experience across the property.”
