ASM message from the CEO: It has been a great start to 2024

It is officially spring, so hopefully, the warm weather will be right around the corner. It has been a great start to 2024 at ASM, with programming that has received significant attention and attendance. Thanks again to our Young Professional group for organizing a great networking event at Puttshack in Boston this winter and our 7th Annual Boston Celtics outing on April 3, which sold out quickly like all past ASM-Celtics events.
We were also happy to host DCAMM Commissioner Adam Baacke for a Meet and Greet and update about upcoming projects on April 5. Thank you to Commissioner Baacke and his staff for presenting to our members.
I want to thank Attorneys Michael Sams of Kenney & Sams, PC, Joe Barra from Robinson + Cole, and David Wilson of Corwin & Corwin LLP for putting on an informative seminar on the Massachusetts Retainage Law and how subcontractors can ensure they are getting paid timely and fairly.
ASM is also committed to safety education. We held our most recent Safety Roundtable on March 27 at Industrial Safety and Rescue in Westwood. Lauren Lamontagne of Professional Safety Enterprises presented on site-specific safety training. Thank you to Lauren for sharing her expertise and to Industrial Safety and Rescue for sponsoring this event!
We will also host a unique safety event separate from our Safety Roundtable series. “OSHA Citations: Preparation, Documentation, and Representation” will be presented by Jonathan Schaefer of Robinson + Cole. This program is for anyone impacted by an OSHA inspection and citation process, including owners, general managers, and superintendents. We encourage you to register early for this event, which is available to members and non-members.
