BOND’s Peer appointed to executive committee of International District Energy Association

Boston, MA According to BOND Building Construction, Tim Peer, P.E., vice president of district energy, was appointed to the International District Energy Association (IDEA) executive committee as second vice chair at the 115th Annual IDEA Conference, IDEA2024, in Orlando, Fla.

“At a time when managing and sustaining the world’s limited energy resources is so critical, IDEA has been instrumental in driving successful advancements in production, delivery, and energy management. Tim’s involvement in the organization and other initiatives across the industry have earned him this well-deserved recognition of his accomplishments in the energy services field,” said Frank Hayes, president of BOND Building Construction, Inc. “Our organization has a deep-rooted commitment to IDEA and we remain dedicated to supporting them through active engagement. We are proud to have Tim represent BOND and commend him on his well-earned appointment to the IDEA Executive Committee.”

One of the energy industry’s foremost organizations, IDEA represents over 2,500 members from more than 25 countries worldwide. Its mission is to foster leadership in providing reliable, economical, efficient, and environmentally sound district heating, cooling, and combined heat and power. Peer has been actively involved with IDEA for over 20 years, serving on its board of industry-leading professionals from around the globe for over six years before being named to the 2024–2025 Executive Committee.

A licensed professional engineer, Peer has over 30 years of experience in the evolving power and energy industry, specializing in campus district heating, cooling, and microgrids. Peer brings a highly specialized and diverse skill set to the table, having led the construction of complex infrastructure projects such as central utility plants, distribution systems, natural gas delivery systems, and substations. His deep expertise in managing these intricate projects positions him as a trusted leader in the field.
