Bradley of DiPrete Engineering honored by Providence Engineering Society
Cranston, RI DiPrete Engineering’s vice president, Len Bradley has received the 2017 Humanitarian Award from the Providence Engineering Society (PES). This award acknowledges an individual from Rhode Island who through lifelong commitments and contributions to the community had exemplified qualities identified with good citizenship and civic duty.
“It is truly a great honor for me and my family to be presented with the Humanitarian Award,” said Bradley. “To be recognized by my peers is a wonderful feeling.”
Bradley is a Registered Professional Engineer in Rhode Island and Massachusetts as well as a member of the Providence Engineering Society and active with the American Council of Engineering Companies. His current projects include the new Citizens Bank Corporate Campus and University Orthopedics in East Providence. As a vice president at DiPrete, he supports all aspects of the firm’s projects including engineering, permitting, budgeting, technical quality, and everything in between. He has worked on a number of well-known projects including Deepwater Wind, Dowling Village, Ridgewood Power, and many others throughout southern New England.
The Providence Engineering Society selected Bradley for the Humanitarian Award based on his contributions to the youth of Rhode Island through his service to the Boy Scouts of America where he’s spent 13 years in various leadership positions in Cub Scout and Boy Scout programs after both his sons joined. He is currently serving as the Scoutmaster of Troop 1 Arnold Mills in Cumberland.
“For me, the Humanitarian Award represents the positive impact I’ve had on the Scouting program and the countless hours I have dedicated for the benefit of my two sons, all of their friends, the State of Rhode Island and the Boy Scouts of America.”
Bradley is also a member of the Yawgoog Alumni Association and of the Alumni executive committee. He was recently appointed to the Narragansett Council Boy Scouts of America’s executive board. In his free time, Len volunteers at the Historic Franklin Farm where he is on the farm house restoration committee.
“I could not have spent all this time volunteering without the support of DiPrete Engineering,” said Bradley. “Part of DiPrete’s Vision Statement emphasizes the firm’s commitment and support for community organizations. Scouting is one of those organizations and a good fit for DiPrete as there are a number of Eagle Scouts on our team as well both Girl and Boy Scout leaders.”
