C&W represents Pi Alley Garage in retail leasing initiative

Cushman & Wakefield is currently representing the Pi Alley Parking Garage in the leasing of the property's retail space on Washington St. In the days when Washington St. was home to most of the city's newspaper printing plants, many of the printers and typesetters frequented the "Bell in Hand" tavern in the alley. In their haste to get refreshment, newspapermen would often drop pocketfulls of mixed-up, loose type on the ground, known in the industry as "pi." This lead to the short street being known throughout Boston as Pi Alley, a name it proudly carries today. Centuries later, Pi Alley carries on the long-standing tradition as a site for small businesses to serve the people who work and live in the neighborhood. The same partnership has owned the property for more than 25 years, and is a strong and active member of the Washington St. neighborhood. As a 600-space garage, Pi Alley offers monthy, daily, weeknight and weekend parking options for the employees and residents who work and live in the many nearby skyscrapers. Pi Alley is home to several well-known national and local retailers, including Dunkin' Donuts, Viga's Eatery and Custom Wireless. Pi Alley currently has up to three suites of retail space available.
