CAI Legislative Action Committees: Working for community associations around New England

Boston, MA Legislative Action Committees (LACs) in all CAI New England Chapter member states including Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont, are CAI’s official voice with legislators and regulators in their respective states. 

LACs work to monitor state legislation, educate lawmakers, and protect the interests of those living and working in community associations. Guided by CAI public policies, LACs speak with one voice on legislative and regulatory matters that affect community associations, community association managers and CAI business partners. 

Each committee is comprised of homeowner leaders, community managers, and representatives from community association business partners who graciously volunteer their time. We recognize and thank the following LAC chairs for their leadership, time and contributions in advocating for associations around New England.

CAI’s Government and Public Affairs team monitors legislation and public policy impacting community associations around New England. The Legislative Tracking Map is a dynamic online resource that tracks legislative activity by state. The website is updated daily with new bills and status updates as they happen.

CAI Public Policies
When an issue arises that impacts CAI members, CAI develops a public policy to guide volunteer advocates and staff in their advocacy efforts. Public policy categories include:

• Community Association Governance and Management;

• Community Association Values; and

• Community Association Relationships with Governmental Departments and Agencies.
