The Connecticut Chapter of Professional Women in Construction (PWC-CT) will host a panel discussion and meeting entitled "Issues and Impacts: Southern New England Private Schools", on December 6, from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. at the Hartford Marriott, 100 Capital Blvd. The meeting - which is open to the public (registration and payment info below) - is one in a series of educational and networking programs hosted by PWC-CT. The programs are tailored to professionals in the architectural, engineering and construction fields, as well as others who may be interested in those subjects.
The panel is comprised of planning, facilities and management professionals from private schools across Connecticut and Massachusetts, who bring a seasoned and multi-focal perspective to the table, incorporating principles of business administration, information technology, architecture, and engineering. Discussions will focus on the economic realities of private school management and facilities upkeep, new progress in energy and sustainability and the application of those technologies on school campuses, and the impact of the digital revolution on school design and the campus environment.
The program will be moderated by Katharine Mace Learned, the director of facilities at Northfield Mount Hermon School. The panelists are Edward Brennan, Jr., assistant facilities director at Avon Old Farms School; Philip Cyr, director of physical plant for Suffield Academy; Timothy Fulco, the director of facilities management at Berkshire School; Tony Malagrino, Pomfret School's director of facilities; Thomas Schneider, director of finance and operations at The Ethel Walker School; David Terrell, associate director of facilities for Choate Rosemary Hall; and Greg Walters, the director of physical plant at Loomis Chaffee School.
