Dacon completes $1.8m Quality Beverage warehouse expansion

Taunton, MA Dacon Corp. has completed the design, engineering and construction of a $1.8 million warehouse expansion at Quality Beverage’s headquarters in Myles Standish Industrial Park.

This is Dacon’s third endeavor with Quality Beverage, having previously renovated their Auburn, Mass. distribution center and a $4.6 million rebranding of the Taunton location.

This project consists of a ground-up, 10,500 s/f warehouse addition to the south side of Quality’s headquarters facility. Designed to match the existing façades and accommodate future equipment upgrades, this high-stud warehouse maximizes vertical space on the property. Serviced by one tailboard loading dock, the building’s main electrical transformer required a relocation to make room for the addition. Dacon also provided insulation upgrades to existing warehouse space, which allowed for an additional climate-controlled storage area.

Begun in 1994, Quality Beverage is one of the state’s largest independently owned beer distributors. The firm credits independent businesses as the backbone to America’s economic health. As such, they are principled on the individual welfare of employees, suppliers and retailers that constitute these enterprises.

The subsequent sales growth experienced across Massachusetts’ 3-tier distribution system gives credence to their collaborative approach. Currently the Taunton office employs 125 people servicing a portfolio spanning traditional beers such as Anheuser-Busch to craft superstars like Wormtown. In August, the firm purchased Williams Distributing in Chicopee, Mass., growing both geographic and product volume to 9.7 million case equivalents across three warehouses and 3,400 retail accounts within 130 cities.
