Davenny, Fullerton and Horesco of Acentech earn INCE board certification

Benjamin Davenny, LEED AP BD+C, EDAC, Jeffrey Fullerton, LEED AP, and Joseph Horesco of Acentech Inc. have obtained board certification from the Institute of Noise Control Engineering of the USA (INCE/USA). Davenny is a senior consultant in the firm's architectural acoustics group. His responsibilities involve architectural and environmental acoustics, and mechanical systems noise and vibration control for a variety of projects concerning healthcare, worship, commercial, and residential buildings. Davenny's focus includes room acoustics, interior noise control, and environmental noise control. He received a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Boston University and a Bachelor of Science in Acoustics from the University of Hartford. Davenny is the author of several whitepapers concerning acoustics in healthcare settings, and is a member of the Acoustical Society of America and the INCE. Fullerton is the director of Acentech's architectural acoustics and mechanical systems group and an acoustician working with various projects involving institutional, commercial and residential facilities. Fullerton's areas of concentration include architectural acoustics, mechanical systems noise and vibration control, and environmental acoustics. He contributed to the development of acoustical credits within the U.S. Green Building Council's (USGBC) LEED 3.0 Commercial Interiors rating system, and is an avid environmentalist in his personal life. Fullerton received a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Bucknell University. He is a regional editor for the National Council of Acoustical Consultants, a member of the INCE, and a past president of the Greater Boston Chapter of the Acoustical Society of America. Horesco is a senior consultant in the firm's architectural acoustics group, with expertise in architectural acoustics, environmental acoustics, and mechanical system noise and vibration control. His experience includes providing recommendations for suitable acoustics in critical spaces at new and existing performing arts centers, noise control of mechanical equipment, environmental noise code compliance studies, and employee noise exposure measurements. Horesco received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and Acoustics from the University of Hartford. He is a member of Acoustical Society of America, the INCE, and the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers. Achieving the Institute's board certification requires a high level of technical competency, analogous to a professional engineering registration for acoustical engineering. Acentech has five INCE/USA Board Certified staff, including Douglas Sturz, supervisory consultant, and Dr. Eric Ungar, Acentech's chief engineering scientist and also a designated Fellow of INCE/USA.
