Gensler has hired Pamela Delphenich, FAIA and Jonathan Ginnis, AIA, LEED AP.
A campus planner with more than 30 years of architectural experience, Delphenich will direct the office's education + culture practice area. Prior to joining Gensler, she served as director of campus planning for the Mass. Institute of Technology and held a similar position at Yale University prior to that appointment. At MIT Delphenich directed all campus planning activities including project and space planning, feasibility studies, and space utilization.
She spearheaded MIT 2030, a campus-wide study that set a 20-year vision for campus development.
"For educational institutions, the pace of change is rapid, with pressure to reduce costs. Through design and improved space allocation and utilization, campuses can realize savings said Delphenich. "Gensler approaches design in an interdisciplinary way, drawing from experience in different markets and regions. In my new role, I will help campuses gain inspiration from successful strategic design innovation as they seek greater use of their real estate."
Delphenich was named a fellow by the AIA (American Institute of Architects) and AUA (Association of University Architects) and is very active in SCUP (Society for College and University Planning). She began her career as an architect and project planner at several noted architectural firms, including Gensler's Los Angeles office.
As a design director with more than 25 years of experience, Ginnis, will help lead the office's commercial building design practice. Ginnis' experience spans all design phases for a variety of project types including corporate, convention, healthcare, research, higher education, and hospitality.
"Jonathan's proven experience in leading the design and delivery of high-performing office buildings aligns perfectly with our firm's focus," said Doug Gensler, managing director of Gensler's Boston office. "We are committed to designing buildings that will drive organizational, financial, and environmental performance to new levels. We are thrilled that he and Pam joined the team and look forward to the value they will bring to our office and our clients."
