E.S. Boulos awarded $2 million contract for Molnlycke Health Care facility

PC Construction Company has awarded E.S. Boulos (ESB) the $2 million electrical and telecommunications subcontract for the new Molnlycke Health Care manufacturing facility at Brunswick Landing, formerly Brunswick Naval Air Station. The project entails demolition of an existing warehouse and construction of a state-of-the-art 79,000 s/f manufacturing facility for the international surgical and wound care product company. ESB is providing electrical construction services for PC Const., property owner Midcoast Regional Redevelopment Authority (MRRA), and Molnlycke Health Care. The new $13 million facility will be used to manufacture Molnlycke's line of advanced wound care dressings. The building will house 30,000 s/f of Class 1 clean room manufacturing and laboratories, a 21,000 s/f warehouse, 8,000 s/f mechanical/electrical/support space and 20,000 s/f of office fit-up. Construction began in August and completion is slated for late summer 2012. ESB's project scope includes design/build improvements to the overhead power line, underground primary power, and installation of a new pad transformer. ESB will provide installation of a 10GB LAN communication system, PA system, and fire alarm/life safety system. Harriman, headquartered in Auburn, Maine is the project architect and engineer. The ESB project team also includes Joe Bradley, senior project manager; Jessie Klimaytis, project engineer; Gene Flaherty project general foreman; and lead estimator Garrett Gustafson.
