Flanders joins Tocci Building Companies

Woburn, MA Brett Flanders has joined Tocci Building Companies as project executive/director of construction. Having an extensive 25-year background in design and engineering on a variety of hospital, healthcare, and higher-education projects in the Boston area, Flanders will have an immediate impact while overseeing day-to-day construction, management, and administrative activities for assigned projects.

In his new role, Flanders will also assist in the development and implementation of corporate policies and procedures to achieve defined corporate goals. Utilizing his extensive Boston-based experience, Flanders will immediately begin overseeing tasks on Tocci’s program management project for Boston Medical Center’s clinical campus redesign.

“Brett brings a diverse and valuable background in design, engineering, and construction, and will employ his efficient and effective building practices in his new role at Tocci,” said Tocci chief enabling officer, John Tocci. “Larger, more complex projects require skilled managers that understand the bigger picture, and also the intricacies of collaboration, timing, safety, and efficiency. Brett possesses this knowledge set and will oversee Tocci’s efforts to ensure successful program management and delivery. We are confident that he will uphold and enforce the standards that have made Tocci the recognized leader that it is today.”

Prior to joining Tocci, Flanders served as a project executive at Gilbane, Inc., where he was responsible for the execution and delivery of developments primarily in the healthcare and institutional markets. During his construction career, he has worked on numerous significant projects including the MIT Stata Center, Fogg Art Museum at Harvard University, Dana-Farber Yawkey Center for Cancer Care, Saint Vincent Hospital Cancer & Wellness Center, and UNH Kingsbury Hall.

Flanders received his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering at Ohio University and his Master of Science degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Rhode Island. Additionally, he is a certified Professional Engineer in Maine and Massachusetts.
