KGI Props. completes $30 million renovations with opening of Talbots

Woburn Mall owner and developer KGI Properties, LLC marked the completion of its five-year revitalization project with the store opening of its newest tenant, Talbots Outlet. KGI invested $30 million in the mall renovation project, which included lighting and traffic flow enhancements as well as improvements to the exterior, interior and infrastructure of the mall. In addition to Talbots Outlet, new tenants of the mall include DSW, Sports Authority and AT&T as well as the upgrade and remodeling of existing tenants such as Market Basket, Maximum Image, Marie's Sewing Center and Fabric Place. "KGI is pleased to welcome Talbots Outlet to the Woburn Mall," said Charles Irving, of KGI. "Our vision for the Woburn Mall has been to make it a shopping destination for the female consumer who appreciates quality and value and we are happy to see that vision come to fruition. We look forward to further development in the area and we look forward to working with the civic leaders of the city to plan and develop future projects." Talbots Outlet, located in the center court, occupies over 12,000 s/f with 7,800 s/f of selling space and employs approximately 35 people in full and part-time positions. The store officially opened February 1st. Talbots operates more than 1,100 stores throughout the U. S. and Canada, including 24 Talbots Outlet locations offering previous season's merchandise at reduced prices. The Woburn Mall location is the company's second Outlet store in Mass.
