Konover Construction Corp. (KCC), received two first place awards in the 2008 Conn. Building Congress Project Team Awards competition. Winners were formally announced during the CBC Awards Program held June 10th.
Winning teams for KCC include the Conn. College Asset Reinvestment Program 2007, which took top honors in the Small Projects New or Renovations category while the Stamford Town Center Expansion & Renovation received first place honors in the Major Renovations/ Expansions category.

"Winning awards in both the small and major project categories is especially rewarding. KCC prides itself on being able to deliver a quality product regardless of the project scope, and these awards are a validation of our credentials."

The Connecticut College Asset Reinvestment Program is a ten-year campus renewal plan that spells out a $53 million program for renovating and preserving the college's most important asset - its physical facilities and campus. The program is designed to enhance technology in learning environments, revitalize student life, boost energy efficiency, and update staff and faculty office spaces.
The program involved the school, its designers, KCC, and trade contractors. This team spent the nine-month school year meticulously planning an impressive scope of work that was then constructed over the 10-week summer break at the school's New London campus. The project encompassed more than 100 projects with a total construction value of $9 million.
The existing Town Center in downtown Stamford was an indoor mall set in the center of a structured parking garage. The mall owners, Taubman Centers planned a revitalization of this center that would create high-visibility, encourage pedestrian traffic, and help re-energize the area. Taubman called on KCC to achieve the transformation. The result is an outdoor plaza fronting on Tresser Blvd., and an addition that features seven new restaurants, the state's largest Barnes & Noble, and several other retail offerings.
