KR Architecture & Interiors oversees design of new Calvary Light Church in Abington, MA

Abington, MA KR Architecture & Interiors served as architectural design firm for the design of Calvary Light Church, and said that the building at 204 Brockton Ave. is completed and is now open for worship services.

Krista Manna, owner of KR Architecture and Interiors, said that the church received its official Certificate of Occupancy and opened officially on July 31st.

The 1,560 s/f, single-story building previously served as a real estate office. Under the direction of Manna, the church sought a change in use occupancy from business to “assembly space,” which required incorporating some additional Americans With Disability Act (ADA) exits, and three additional bathrooms. Also the design includes a new welcome center.

According to Manna, there were some interesting facets to the design. “The building was not originally designed as a church,” she said. Additional features include opening up the space, the addition of a small platform for the pastor and other speakers, specific seating to accommodate a congregation, and an AV booth for lighting control.

She added, “We welcome Calvary Light Church to Abington.”

KR Architecture & Interiors was founded in 2017. Since its inception, the firm has designed and constructed projects over the South Shore and beyond.
