Boston, MA According to Margulies Perruzzi (MP), senior interior designer Lauren Maggio, NCIDQ, IIDA has earned her WELL Accredited Professional (AP) accreditation. Developed by Green Building Certification Inc. (GBCI) in collaboration with the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI), WELL AP signifies advanced knowledge in human health and wellness in the built environment, and specialization in the WELL Building Standard.

WELL APs have passed the WELL AP exam, an assessment based on the expertise of leading practitioners in the field of design, health, and wellness in the built environment. Developed using GBCI’s rigorous test development best practices, the WELL AP exam is designed to test a candidate’s knowledge and proficiency in building wellness and the principles, practices and applications of the WELL Building Standard.

Lauren is an interior designer with 12 years of experience working on healthcare and corporate projects. She believes that design is about turning business plans into construction plans and loves how design enhances the human experience. The lasting impression of her designs extends beyond style and surface features, it considers the full patient, visitor, and employee experience. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design from the Rochester Institute of Technology.

“At Margulies Peruzzi, we believe that the WELL rating system is to health and safety what LEED is to sustainable design, and that it will gain the same traction among design professionals and owners,” said Janet Morra, AIA, LEED AP, principal and partner at Margulies Perruzzi. “As part of our firm’s commitment to workplace health and safety for our clients, we congratulate Lauren in her successful quest to earn the WELL AP accreditation.”
