Antenna Audio, a world-wide leader in audio and audio-visual interpretation for use at museums, exhibitions, historic sites, and visitor attractions, has extended its lease and expanded its occupancy at Malkin Properties' MerrittView only six months after its original lease signing, according to Jeffrey Newman, executive vice president of Malkin Properties, the marketing and managing agent for the building.
The tenant will move from a 2,825 s/f space on the fifth floor to a 5,913 s/f space on the sixth floor, more than doubling its size. The new lease term extends through 2017.
Founded in London in 1984, and merged with Antenna Tours and London-based Arts Communication and Technology in 1998, Antenna Audio has offices in Europe, Asia and the Middle East, in addition to North America. Antenna Audio was recently purchased by Wicks Group of Companies LLC, which manages private equity funds that invest in selected segments of the information, education and media industries.
"Antenna Audio chose Merritt-View in late 2010 because of its location and reputation for superior tenant service," said Paul Kauffman of Cushman & Wakefield, who, together with his colleague Torey Walsh, represented the tenant in this transaction. "As evidenced by this early expansion and renewal, MerrittView turned out to be the perfect home for the company. On top of it all, Malkin Properties was extremely accommodating when Antenna Audio decided that it needed more space."
Malkin Construction was retained to build out the space for the tenant.
Newman and senior leasing associate Kimberly Zaccagnino represented the landlord in this transaction.
MerrittView is an eight-story, 255,000 s/f trophy office building located at the intersection of Rte. 7 and the Merritt Pkwy., near the Norwalk/Wilton border, with immediate access to Rte. 7, Exit 40A and 40B of the Merritt Pkwy., and the Metro-North Commuter Railroad.
