Olshan Properties JV breaks ground on mixed-use hotel development
Boston, MA A partnership that includes Olshan Properties has started construction on a new mixed-use hotel and retail development to be located across from the Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway near the city’s historic Haymarket and North End Districts.
Alongside a 212-key Canopy by Hilton hotel – which is being constructed with lead developer CV Properties and co-developer Harbinger – the partnership will create a total of 12,711 s/f of new retail and restaurant space in the area. In addition to the leased ground floor and second floor outdoor terrace, the second floor of the hotel will feature a 2,000 s/f bar and restaurant with a retractable glass wall overlooking the North End Greenway’s European-style gardens. All phases of the $125 million development are expected to be completed by the middle of 2021.

The first domestic Canopy by Hilton hotel debuted in early 2018 in Washington, D.C. A key element of the Canopy concept is enabling hotel guests to fully experience the neighborhood surrounding the hotel through design, on-site communal events, and tastings led by nearby businesses.
Olshan Properties owns and operates both full and limited service hotels in Ohio, Georgia, Illinois, and Florida. The portfolio is currently comprised of six hotels consisting of 1,447 hotel rooms with another 136 room hotel currently under development. The company manages full service Marriott (Starwood) and Hilton hotels, as well as select service Marriott Courtyard and Residence Inn brands.
