O’Sullivan Architects moves into M.F. Charles Building

Reading, MA  O’Sullivan Architects, Inc. (OSA) has completed its corporate headquarters move into the historic 125-year old M. F. Charles Building on the top floor in Suite 3001. OSA’s new office is above Northern Bank, at the corner of Main St. (Rte. 28) and Haven St.

The building has undergone a complete restoration over the past two years and we are thrilled to be the first to move into the third floor. During that same timeframe, OSA has seen its professional staff levels increase by over 40% and was the driving force behind the move to larger headquarters. “After months of looking into surrounding communities for expanded office space, we are very excited to be able to stay in the downtown Reading”, said David O’Sullivan, AIA, president and founder of the firm. As the first tenant within the wide-open floor, we were allowed to design our suite layout to encompass the projected continued growth needs of the company.

Janice Gorman, senior interior designer, worked out the build-out footprint for our expanded needs due to the growth that OSA has experienced during the past few years.  Our new office layout is 50% larger than our former office across the street.  We wanted to honor the historic nature of the building and have maintained an open concept throughout the suite.  From the 100 year old reclaimed wood features in the reception area, to exposed exterior brick perimeter walls, to all exposed roof trusses at 17 feet above throughout except soaring to 22 feet high in the conference room to take full advantage of added daylight from the buildings only roof monitor.
