Real estate management firm, Peabody Properties, Inc., was recently recognized by the National Affordable Housing Management Association (NAHMA) for the exceptional management of Little Neck Village in Marion, Mass.
Each year, NAHMA's Community of Quality Awards program recognizes top national performers in the affordable, multifamily rental property industry. Winners must achieve a high standard of excellence in the areas of physical maintenance, financial management, residential programs and services, employee credentials and other selective criteria.
Little Neck Village, a 48-unit rental community for seniors, was the recipient of NAHMA's 2014 "Exemplary Development for the Elderly" Community of Quality Award. In 2008, EA Fish Developers, in partnership with Peabody Properties, Inc. and the Town of Marion, renovated Little Neck Village as an affordable housing community for seniors. The revitalization included a number of modifications to the apartments and grounds and the addition of supportive services and social and physical coordinated activities for the senior residents. As a result, Little Neck Village is able to offer an affordable aging-in-place model that has been lauded regionally and nationally.
"At Peabody Properties we strive to maintain the highest standards of resident services and overall property management," said Melissa Fish-Crane, principal and chief operating officer at Peabody Properties. "The management team at Little Neck Village work diligently, day in and day out, to provide key services to residents while overseeing facility maintenance and management. We are proud of their efforts and grateful that their accomplishments have been recognized by NAHMA."
The firm and property were recognized at NAHMA's recent Federal Affairs Winter Meeting in Washington, DC. 2014 Community of Quality winners were selected from a pool of more than 30 affordable communities, nationwide. This award marks the second time a Peabody Properties-managed community has been recognized by NAHMA as a Community of Quality.
