Project of the Month: Pro Con Inc provides architectural and construction management services for two new Brightview Senior Living communities

Construction is nearly complete for Brightview North Andover, and construction is underway for Brightview Arlington, two new senior living communities in Massachusetts. The projects are being developed by Shelter Development of Baltimore and will be operated by Brightview Senior Living. Pro Con Inc is the project architect and construction manager for both Brightview communities. Brightview North Andover is located at 1275 Turnpike Rd. The 4-story, 140,530 s/f apartment home community will offer a vibrant social environment where housekeeping, dining, transportation, and maintenance are provided by a caring staff. Plans call for the community to have elegant dining rooms, a private dining room, an internet café, wellness/fitness center, on-site movie theater, game room, beauty/barber salon, library/media room and outdoor patios. Brightview North Andover will offer 133 units; 65 apartments for independent living, 41 apartments for assisted living and 27 apartments for Alzheimer's and dementia care. The apartments, which are all under one roof, will offer the residents a variety of floor plans and care options. Pro Con Inc expects the $19.8 million facility to be completed this month. The North Andover facility will offer full-service, independent living apartments on a monthly rental basis with no large entrance fee. The all-inclusive monthly fee includes private 1 or 2-bedroom apartment homes, exterior and interior maintenance including appliances, full kitchens, washer/dryer, housekeeping, chef-prepared meals, transportation, utilities, and a full-time program director to coordinate daily programs and social events. With assisted living and alzheimer's care also on campus, Brightview North Andover will bring three important options all together in one convenient community. Brightview Arlington is 4-story, 68,691 s/f senior living community located on Hospital Rd. The $13.8 million facility, which is currently under construction, will be the sixth Brightview community in Massachusetts. Brightview Arlington will have 90 units; 60 apartments for assisted living and 30 apartments for Alzheimer's and dementia care. Like Brightview North Andover, the apartments are all under one roof and will offer residents a variety of floor plans and care options, with housekeeping, dining, transportation, and maintenance provided by a caring staff. Plans call for the community to have an elegant dining room, a private dining room, a café, wellness/fitness center, activities room, beauty/barber salon, library/media room, outdoor patios. Screened porches off the public areas, will provide residents with beautiful views of the surrounding scenery. The building's exterior will feature cement siding and a stone façade. Covered parking for 38 vehicles will be available beneath the building with elevator access for residents and a natural stone patio and decorative pergolas will enhance the exterior courtyard. Pro Con Inc began site work on Brightview Arlington in November 2012 and has scheduled a January 2014 completion date. Brightview Senior Living, LLC, offers senior living communities in Conn., Florida, Maryland, Mass., Missouri, N.J., Penn., R.I., and Virginia. The communities include independent living, assisted living and dementia care options. North Andover and Arlington are two of several Brightview projects Pro Con Inc has managed, including Brightview Danvers which was completed in 2007 and Brightview Concord River in Billerica, which was completed in 2009. Pro Con Inc. is a full service architecture and construction management firm specializing in healthcare, senior living, hospitality, and multi-family residential projects.
