The Connecticut/Western Massachusetts Chapter of SIOR recently held its quarterly spring meeting at R.D. Scinto's Corporate Park. The business meeting was conducted in the auditorium of the facility at 4 Corporate Dr. with dinner next door at Il Palio Restaurant. The Chapter would like to acknowledge and thank R.D. Scinto for generously sponsoring the event which included an Italian dinner.
At the end of the business meeting, Bob Scinto spoke to the members about his real estate projects, touching on the reasons for his success as a real estate developer. He specifically focused on his genuine personal attention to all his tenants, and constantly striving to make property improvements designed to keep his tenants and their employees happy in their work environment.
Following dinner, Timothy Breda, a mortgage broker from Goedecke and Company, provided members and guests in attendance a capital markets update discussion. Breda recently attended the Mortgage Bankers Association Commercial Real Estate Conference in February. His remarks included themes highlighted at the Conference, in addition to his experiences in the market. Breda's comments were generally optimistic about the current financial markets: he is seeing higher LTV financing, non recourse capital is expanding, risk tolerance is increasing slightly, and the cost of capital has continued to drop.
Also in attendance was Elizabeth Kontomerkos from Bank of America. The Chapter acknowledged Bank of America for recently committing to be an Annual Chapter Sponsor, joining Connecticut Light & Power/Yankee Gas.
