Starting out in the construction business, who or what empowered you? The Fire Protection team I have working with me at E.M Duggan has empowered me to take on new challenges and expand my knowledge. But I have always been empowered by being able to see a project go from drawings to reality
What are you most looking forward to post-pandemic? In addition to seeing my elderly parents, who live on the West coast, I am most looking forward to the camaraderie of my fellow Bostonians that can’t be replicated while social distancing;
Starting out in the construction business, who or what empowered you? My time at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy prepared me well to step into a new field- being involved in the regiment you learn structure, and how to put your head down to reach new goals.
Starting out in the construction business, who or what empowered you? After working for a management consulting firm for 20 years, the principal retired and closed the business. So, I had to reinvent myself and thankfully, there are quite a few construction companies in my area
How have you adapted and changed in the last 12 months? I have been challenged this past year by managing the Interiors Group during the pandemic. We have all adapted to virtual meetings, social distancing, and unfortunate times due to the pandemic.
Starting out in the construction business, who or what empowered you? I really have to highlight our CEO Jay Calnan. Following a big industry event one day, I jokingly mentioned the experience was akin to “wading through a sea of blue suits and silver hair.” Jay responded in a supportive way
What was your greatest achievement or most notable project in the last 12 months? Construction of the interior fit-out for Via Separations, which involved the conversion of a former flag manufacturing building in Watertown, MA into a state-of-the-art wet lab and prototyping space for the company’s revolutionary membrane filtration
Starting out in the construction business, who or what empowered you? My parents have always encouraged me to pursue whatever path I wanted to take. I grew up with two brothers, and we all worked equally at my father’s land surveying business and my mother’s real estate firm.
What was your greatest professional achievement or most notable project in the last 12 months? As a project coordinator at Cranshaw Construction, I’ve had the opportunity to work on a lot of exciting projects. Currently I’m working on two projects at Assembly Row in Somerville
The industrial real estate news in the last few years has been somewhat of a broken record. Everybody everywhere has been talking about the same things: Amazon and the rack and stack revolution, cannabis and the cultivation craze
