What emerging challenge or opportunity do you see shaping the construction industry in the next few years, and how are you preparing for it? The most pressing challenge facing the construction industry is workforce decline. In Maine alone, construction employment declined by 1.4%, intensifying an already critical housing shortage.

What current or recently completed project, accomplishment or initiative are you most excited about, and why does it matter for your team, clients or community? I am looking forward to the upcoming completion of the Harvard South Campus Drive Graduate Student Housing Building in Boston, a capstone to the work RMF has conducted across campus.

What do you wish more women knew about the opportunities available in the construction industry today? Women can have a different perspective on projects that can offer a unique view to keep it on track and solve problems.

What do you wish more women knew about the opportunities available in the construction industry today? This industry is different from any other I have ever worked in. Hard work and diligence are recognized and valued in such a straightforward way.

What current or recently completed project, accomplishment or initiative are you most excited about, and why does it matter for your team, clients or community? I’m most excited about a Rising Waters sculpture we designed for Braintree, MA as public outreach of a coastal restoration project.

What do you wish more women knew about the opportunities available in the construction industry today? The construction industry offers a diverse range of opportunities that many women may not be aware of in what has been a male-dominated industry.

What do you wish more women knew about the opportunities available in the construction industry today? I wish more women knew how many exciting and impactful opportunities exist in construction today.

What do you wish more women knew about the opportunities available in the construction industry today? I see the opportunities in construction every day working in recruiting at Resource Options, and they’re growing.

What do you wish more women knew about the opportunities available in the construction industry today? There is space for you in this industry. Construction today offers real opportunity for growth, leadership, financial stability, and meaningful impact in the communities we build.

What current or recently completed project, accomplishment or initiative are you most excited about, and why does it matter for your team, clients or community? I am most excited about the recently completed renovation of the Grieco Ford auto dealership, which included expanding the service drive, adding a new car delivery area, renovating the showroom, and creating additional office space

What is one piece of advice or perspective you would share with women beginning their careers in the construction industry? One piece of advice I would offer is this: ask questions – no matter how obvious or even absurd they may seem.
