What recent accomplishment or initiative are you most proud of, and what impact did it have on your firm, clients, or community? This year, I’m most proud of launching the Lawrence P. Cohen Memorial Scholarship in honor of my late father and our firm’s founder.
What advice would you share with emerging professionals striving to become future leaders in commercial real estate? When I first started practicing, I made a point of wanting to learn at least one thing every day (and be mindful and reflect on what I learned at the end of the day).
What recent accomplishment or initiative are you most proud of, and what impact did it have on your firm, clients, or community? One accomplishment I’m most proud of is helping local business owners transition from being long-term tenants to becoming commercial property owners.
What is one major challenge you’ve overcome as a leader, and what did it teach you? When I began practicing law, leadership meant control of clients, revenue, and visibility. I learned true leadership is the opposite: it’s not about personal credit but advancing others so the firm grows beyond one person.
What recent accomplishment or initiative are you most proud of, and what impact did it have on your firm, clients, or community? V10 Development successfully completed and opened The Cove in Worcester, a 173-unit mixed-use multi-family development on the outfield wall of Polar Park on time and on budget.
What advice would you share with emerging professionals striving to become future leaders in commercial real estate? I would encourage young professionals to get involved in as many career-centered organizations as possible.
What recent accomplishment or initiative are you most proud of, and what impact did it have on your firm, clients, or community? I was responsible for the completion of 995,000 s/f of new and repurposed construction in Kendall Square: The Residences at 165 Main St.
What recent accomplishment or initiative are you most proud of, and what impact did it have on your firm, clients, or community? I am most proud of the tremendous talent that we have added over the years creating teams that support our clients and one another.
How do you inspire, motivate, or mentor others within your organization? I inspire and mentor others at H. J. Russell & Company by leading with accountability, clarity, and purpose. I aim to model excellence through action setting high standards while providing guidance and support.
